TWININGS Twinings World Loose Teas

• Assam is a black tea named after the region where it is produced, an area south of the eastern Himalayas, roughly the size of Ireland.

  From the Camellia Sinensis Assamica, this is a 2nd Flush Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe grade, which means that the tea has been sorted to contain just the tips of the golden yellow end buds and the first leaf of each shoot.  2nd flush means it is the second "pick" of the year, often considered to be the best.

  It's a rich and robust tea with a delicious malty flavour.

• Twinings Iraqi Tea Deli - Ceylon Orange Pekoe 

  A medium brown liquor with tints of orange and a balanced slightly citrus flavour that's refreshing all day!

  This low grown tea from Ceylon is of a Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe grade  - "Broken" refers to the grading process where broken and full leaves are separated and "Flowery Orange Pekoe" means that this tea comes from the end bud and first leaf of each shoot.

  A honey-coloured tea with a spring-like fragrance and velvety texture, this High Mountain Oolong is from the Dung Ti Mountains of Taiwan - a location famed for giving the lightly fermented rolled Oolong tea a subtle and delicate flavour.

  CHINESE TEA RITUAL - HIGH MOUNTAIN OOLONG

  An exquisite, intense and velvet-smooth flavour, with a fresh, fragrant blossom character.

• A blend of green tea and gently steamed fresh mint leaves from Egypt, this special blend has a punchy, sweet flavour and a gentle earthy colour.

  The "gunpowder" part of the name comes from the shape of the green tea leaves once they've been rolled up into little pellets that look like gunpowder pellets once used in cannons.  This helps lock in all the delicious flavours and stops the leaves being damaged.

  We like to think it also refers to the tiny minty explosion that happens on your taste-buds with every sip!
