My favourite tea in the store is Lovers Leap, a Sri Lankan black tea that reminds me of home…

As a brand ambassador I have the opportunity to speak to people about different teas, their processes. But my favourite thing is helping a customer discover something new about their favourite tea, or a new favourite all together!

Tell us your favourite fun fact about tea or the Strand store:
It has to be Robert Fortune’s tea heist story! I love the fact that a Scots man secretly pretended to be (successfully) a Chinese man for 5 years, just to steal the secrets of making tea!

How long have you been with Twinings?
I've worked for Twinings since 2015.

Do you remember the first time you had a proper cup of tea? What was it?
I think I might have been about 5 years old. I remember putting four teaspoons of sugar and way too much milk!

What’s your favourite thing about working for Twinings, and working at the Flagship store?
The Company is fantastic, not just for the rewards and benefits, but for the people and the values that Twinings instils in us. They really promote us to aim high and push ourselves in everything we do.

Where do you recommend going for Afternoon Tea in London?
I would recommend two places. For a traditional Afternoon Tea, I would say Browns Hotel, in Mayfair. Their attention to details was fantastic. For an Afternoon Tea with a modern twist, Alice in Wonderland experience at the Sandersons. It was unique, magical and completely different from what I had before!

Tell us a little bit about yourself, where are you from, your passions, aspirations, favourite eating spot in London… whatever you will like to share!
Born and bred in London. I’ve lived here all my life. In my spare time I like to play for my local football team, socialising with friends and eating and drinking out as much as I can with my wife. I’m a massive music fan and I play the trumpet. This year I’ve become a dad for the first time. My gorgeous daughter’s name is Isabelle and she’s the official Strand baby!
