The Gift Of A Perfect Mother's Day - For Your Mum

Your mum is amazing and deserves to be spoilt from the moment she opens her eyes on Mother’s Day. Here are some top tips on how to make it the perfect day.

We’ve asked some Mother’s Day experts for their top tips for the perfect day

Here is what they said:

  • Being there with your mum on the day is the nicest thing. If you can’t make the weekend of the 31st of March, why not suggest an alternative Mother’s Day get together? - The 'Mum's Ultimate Treats Hamper' could be a nice little surprise to send her in the post!?
  • Something bought, something made – it’s nice to be spoilt with a pretty gift but a homemade card or a fun drawing are always lovely.
  • Whatever the surprise, make sure the kitchen is shiny and clean afterwards with no tidying up left to do for mummy.
  • If you want to take the family out for lunch at a nice pub, make sure you book in advance.
  • When your kids are older, a day out together doing something fun like going to a spa or booking afternoon tea in a nice location are just perfect.
  • Buy flowers from the shop, don’t raid the garden.
  • Take a few family photos with everyone.
  • A little bit of time for pampering on Mother’s Day is amazing – maybe an hour alone to soak in the bath and take time to get myself ready before going out (maybe you could clean my car for additional brownie points and extra peace and quiet inside the house?)

Share your top tips with us @TwiningsTeaUK and we'll add them to the list!

The geekie stuff: Did you know that Mothering Sunday is always the fourth Sunday in Lent? It falls on a different date each year because it is linked to Easter which is determined by the lunar calendar.
