Happy St George’s Day! Here at Twinings we wanted to celebrate with this delicious full English Breakfast (diet starts tomorrow), you will find a range of classic ingredients from all corners of the UK.
From traditional haggis to leak Welsh cakes we are celebrating all things British this St George’s Day! And of course you need to wash it all down with a delicious cup of Full English Black Tea.

Welsh Cakes

Oil for frying |
- Coarsely grate the potato and squeeze out the liquid. Place into a bowl and microwave for a minute.
- Thinly slice the leeks and add to the potato.
- Add the egg, flour and salt and pepper and stir together. In a frying pan heat some oil and place dollops of the mixture into the pan.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on one side or till golden then flip and cook for a further 3 minutes.

Slices of English back bacon, smoked or unsmoked |

Mushrooms sliced |

Cherry tomatoes cut in half |

- In a frying pan, heat a small amount of vegetable oil over medium heat. Once the frying pan is hot, fry the sausages turning occasionally for about 8minutes until the outside is nice and brown. Add the bacon to the pan and cook for a few minutes each side. Set the sausages and bacon aside and cover with foil to keep warm. Fry the haggis for 2 minutes each side.
- Sautee the mushrooms and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the tomatoes face down in the pan to heat through for about a minute (don’t overcook as the tomatoes will go mushy).
- Remove the tomatoes and fry the egg to your preference.
- Sunny side up cook for 3-4 minutes on one side on a medium heat.
- Eggs over easy cook as instructed for sunny side up then flip over and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
