Loose Leaf Black Tea

Origin

Let's head to the humid mountain slopes of Hunan Province in central China to discover the fabulous Golden Monkey black tea, whose stunning twisted leaves and sweetly satisfying flavour are the stuff of legend.

Tea Description

Hand-picked in Spring, velvety buds and single leaves are rolled into tight black twists with lots of juicy golden tips, said to resemble the hairs of the golden monkeys that are common to this part of China. When brewed, the liquor is a bright amber beauty, full of sweet and fruity notes and just a hint of smoke.

Ingredients

100% Black Tea.

Blended and packed in the EU.

Our brewing guidance

We'd use one rounded teaspoon per person and one for the pot.  Pour on fresh boiling water.  The Chinese would say tea this good can be steeped several times in one sitting: just one minute for the first brew, a minute and a half for the second brew, and so on.  Add half a minute every time you steep the leaves, to bring out the flavour.  No need to add milk or anything else: we enjoy it just as it comes.

Doing good

With your support, Twinings helps provide access to clean water for villages across Darjeeling, helps improve mother and baby health in tea growing regions of Yunnan and helps improve health and nutrition in tea communities in Assam.
