Yunnan Golden Tip - Caddy

Now: £7.00 Was: £14.00 sku LTSOYGT0515-75 | Net weight: 75g

Loose leaf black tea.

This delightful tea is grown in South West China's Yunnan Province, where the mountainous terrain and moist, mild breezes from the Indian and Pacific oceans provide perfect growing conditions.

The result is a black tea with smooth roasted chestnut notes, the golden tips of the young leaf buds lending delicacy and sweetness. When infused in hot water, the leaves give a red liquor with a satisfying malty character.

Approximately 35 servings.

Customer Reviews

100% of customers liked this product

This tea just looks expensive. It tastes expensive, too! Yunnan is the core of Chinese tea production and one of the two most heavily consumed worldwide - the other being Assam tea. Chances are then that this tea, like all Yunnan tea, will taste oddly familiar.

Other than its very high quality - this is nearly all full tip leaf! - this tea is no-frills Yunnan tea that is best described as the "vanilla" of tea tastes - the base point from which all other varieties can be compared, with a mellow taste and nutty undertone to the tea characteristic to tea from the region. If you like tea at all, this is a very safe bet.

Chinese tea varieties are not designed for use with milk, so try this tea black first and see how you fare.
