More about Passion Fruit Flavoured Ceylon

Ceylon is actually the name given to all tea produced in the southern Asian island of Sri Lanka. Tea here is grown at a variety of altitudes, such as atop hills and in valleys, and the nation enjoys amongst the world’s best climates for growing tea. This climate, mixed with ideal levels of humidity, rainfall and elevation make Sri Lanka the perfect place to grow tea, hence why it is one of the world’s largest producers.

There are many tea growing estates across Sri Lanka, all with different altitudes and climates that help to produce the wide range of teas the nation produces. Typically, the tea found in the highlands has a rich, golden coloured lightness, whilst lower down the tea tends to get a touch darker and stronger.

The Ceylon used in Twinings tea comes from one of the highest regions in Sri Lanka, where the higher altitude produces a light coloured and delicate tea, which is beautifully invigorating, and filled with the fresh air of the stunning landscape it’s grown in.

All that’s left to do then is to infuse the great tasting Ceylon with the sweet flavour of caramelised passion fruit, to create a one-of-a-kind blend that is truly unforgettable.

Like any of our delicious flavoured loose teas, such as Elderflower and Blossom Darjeeling, Rosy Fig Flavoured White Tea or Moroccan Mint with Rose, the best results are to be had by infusing this tea using clean, freshly boiled water.

For an added delight to your tea experience, use a glass teapot to see the leaves unreel and infuse, releasing the beautiful colours within.

Allow the leaves to brew for up to 5 minutes, depending on the strength you prefer, and take care not to let the leaves brew for too long as it can result in a bitter, oily taste.

Strain the tea as it’s poured and enjoy!
